The Best Baby Products Ever
Every mom has one. That one great baby product that you swear by, that you buy for your friends and recommend to strangers. The thing every new mom should have. These are the best baby products that our writers, editors, and SavvyMom staffers recommend above all others.

aden + anais Muslin Swaddle Blanket
My number one favourite baby item is the aden + anais muslin swaddle blanket. It is big enough for swaddling, covering the car seat, using as a nursing blanket and more—and because it's made of light muslin it's never too warm. It makes the perfect gift and I was so happy to have it for my daughter, I just wish I'd had one for my son!
-
Chicco Hook-On High Chair
I love this high chair! It clips on to any table and I have mine attached to the dining table that we all eat at every day. It lets Matthew sit with us instead of just near us, and I'm convinced that because of that he's a better eater than my other two sons were at his age.
-
My Breast Friend Nursing Pillow
The wrap-around design of this nursing pillow supports your back, stays in place and the flat surface means the baby doesn't roll around. My pillow went everywhere with me in the first few months with a newborn—including on to airplanes.
-
Baby Cubes
I loved using baby cubes and always pick up a tray for my expectant friends. Sure you can put homemade baby food in a regular ice cube tray, but it gets that layer of ice on top. These cubes have a lid and you can portion out by ounces, so you know just how much food baby is taking in. They also stack up quite nicely, making them easy to pack in your suitcase or baby bag.
-
BabyWrappers
I love to give these towels as gifts because my husband and I really liked them when we had little babies. You tie the towel around your neck and then you wrap the baby against you. It keeps you dry and the baby safe in your arms.
-
Fisher-Price Cradle & Swing
My friend surprised me with this swing at my baby shower, and at first I wasn't so convinced I needed such a large piece of equipment taking up so much floor space in my small urban house. Once my baby arrived though, I was converted. Both my daughters ended up loving the soft swinging motion, and I loved that I was able to get a few minutes of hands-free time.

Skip Hop Pronto Baby Change Station
I'm an advocate of forgoing lugging around a huge diaper bag filled with wipes and fold out change mats. This all-in-one mommy must-have is flat, easy to store, the size of a small purse and totally tote-able. The change mat is attached to the diaper storage and wipe pack area meaning less stress digging around for separate items while trying to juggle the baby. It unfolds and packs up with ease. Even better, the diaper storage pack is on one end (read: diaper and wipes are right by the action). This change station was my absolute go-to item when my babies were in diapers.

Peakaboo Beans Baby Beans Playsuit
Since I discovered Peekaboo Beans I have gifted their clothes to anyone/everyone I can. The garments are so high-quality and designed to be super-safe and comfortable. My fave product to give to moms is their Baby Beans Playsuit as it is a must have! The quality is so great that it would work for use with one child, then the next and so on. It's worth the money.
-
Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown
Books make the best gifts. This one is an absolute classic. Bundle it with my other faves, Dear Zoo: A Lift-the-flap Book by Rod Campbell, and Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman for a complete shower gift.
-
Gumdrop Newborn Pacifier
This is the type of pacifier that our babies were given in the hospital and they loved them…and we couldn't find them. I had to order them directly from the supplier in Hawaii! The company has since been bought by The First Years so they are more readily available. Pacifiers are very much a personal choice, but what we like about these is the indent in the back so that you can put your finger in and the baby essentially sucks your finger…with the silicone of the pacifier around it.
-
Kids Konserve Nesting Container Trio
Once they reach the finger food stage, going out with baby becomes an exercise in packing appropriate snacks in well-sealed and safe containers. We were never keen on exposing our baby—our ourselves—to BPA, so we always trusted these stainless steel containers. They also last forever and are super durable—no lids popping off in the diaper bag leaving a goldfish in every crevice.
-
Fisher-Price Newborn-to-Toddler Portable Rocker
This chair is the ultimate gift for new parents. I have so many photos of my daughter sitting, sleeping and eating in this chair. It's very mobile, so we could take it everywhere we went (especially useful when visiting friends and family). Whenever parents-to-be want to know my one must-have item, this is what I recommend.

Skip Hop Duo Essential Diaper Bag
The Skip Hop diaper bag is a lifesaver. We always preferred the sturdy over-the- shoulder one-strap design to keep the bag snugly on our shoulders. We loved the multiple compartments, easy-to-clean fabric, and the multitude of patterns available.
